Buckle Up for Saturday's Outhouse Grand Prix
Racing returns to Magic Valley Speedway this Saturday, May 18, with the Outhouse Grand Prix. The Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodels, Speed Tour Modifieds powered by Pit Stop USA, McDonald’s Street Stocks, Budweiser Bombers, MVS Hornets, and Quale’s Electronics Stingers shift their seasons into high gear as they fight for the night’s J&L Machine trophies.
Andrew Palmer has imposed his will on the Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodels thus far in 2024 and brings a 44-point gap into Saturday night’s action. But Palmer faces a full field of fast foes Saturday night, including Doyal Moen, Shawn Lester, and defending division champion Dan Root, Jr.
Magic Valley Speedway welcomes back the Speed Tour Modifieds powered by Pit Stop USA Saturday night. Eric Rhead claimed the NASCAR Modified division title last year and looks to parlay that success into the 2024 Speed Tour campaign.
The McDonald’s Street Stock point leader Mitch Pehrson is primed to score Saturday’s J&L Machine trophy. But if Pehrson has a pack of hungry competitors to best if he’s to be the third different driver to score a feature win this year.
The Budweiser Bombers and MVS Hornets combine for the night’s headline event, the Outhouse Grand Prix, where drivers race the clock around the track, through an outhouse-centered obstacle course, then back across the finish line.
In racing action, the Budweiser Bomber division chases Corbin Black to green. With two feature wins so far in 2024 Black leads Daniel Beem by 77 markers and defending champ Brandon Adams by an even eighty points.
On the other hand, points in the MVS Hornet division couldn’t be closer as Justin Ford and Tiffany Moen enter Saturday night’s action deadlocked atop the standings with 71 points apiece. Third-place Zach Rydalch is just two points behind with 69 points, while Peyton Hardenbrook is seven markers back with 64 points. Who will break free of the pack and take control of this competitive class?
The Quale’s Electronics Stingers take their first green flag of the season Saturday. Don’t miss a minute of the action as these future speedway stars hone their skills behind the wheel.
General admission to Saturday’s full night of grassroots racing is just $14 for adults, $12 seniors 60 and over and military members, $8 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. with the night’s first green flag at 6:30 p.m. Log on to www.magicvalleyspeedway.com to purchase your advance tickets, and send ‘magicspeed’ to 84483 to receive exclusive updates from around the third-mile.
