Red Cedar Speedway hosted its annual Mother’s Day special race night, along with a campaign to help the fight against LLS!

Steve Hallquist ended his long winless streak at the Red Cedar Speedway Friday night. Steve burst out to the lead and looked untouchable but a late race caution tightened things up. On the restart Hallquist resumed as the leader but Mike Anderson challenged Hallquist on the bottom and pulled along side him but Hallquist would not be denied and drove off to the win followed by Anderson, Justin Weinberger, Jason Richardson & Shane Halopka.

Alex Myers led the field to green in the superstock division. Myers and Avery Anderson would battle for the lead early on. After several circuits, Myers would secure the lead and continue his smooth run on the bottom. As the race rolled on Curt Myers would make his way into 2nd place and begin to real in his son. Curt would close but could never get close enough to make a move. The two drivers out front began to pull away Terran Spacek was also on a charge to the front but appeared too far away to be in contention, then a caution flag flew which would lead to a green white checker finish. On the restart Spacek Jump to the outside of both Myers cars and try to steal the show. Alex would hold strong and secure the lead. Curt and Terran would battle for 2nd as Alex would secure his first career feature win. Terran Spacek was 2nd followed by Curt Myers, Tommy Richards and Kolby Keihl.

Early Late Model race leader Greg Nippoldt appeared to have a runaway in the late model feature. But a wrong move in lap traffic midway through the race would cost him dearly. Nippoldt Move to the high side of the speedway to get by a lap Car which allowed second place running Chad Mahder to cut his lead to a car length. Mahder Would shoot to the inside of Nippoldt And never look back. Mahder raced to the Win followed by Nippoldt, James Giossi, Mark Hessler and Mike Anderson.

Nick Koehler was the early leader in the Midwest Modified division. Koehler would seperate himself from the field and start to driver away. Travis Anderson and Shadow Kitchner would battle for second while Steve Hass and Brandon Jensen would battle behind them. Jensen would pass Haas and slip by Kitchner and move into 3rd. Koehler would remain the leader while Jensen moved past Anderson for second but Koehler was too far away for Jensen to challenge for the lead.
Koehler would win followed by Jensen, Kitchner, Anderson and Steve Haas.

Andrew Hanson would continue his winning ways in the Street Stocks. Hanson would dart the lead early as a battle ensued behind him with Hunter VanGilder Cody Kummer and Gunnar Watkins. Hanson continued to lead as a caution flew towards the end of the race. On the restart VanGilder would challenge Hanson on the outside but Hanson would hold strong and drive away to the win. Followed by VanGilder, Kummer, Sam Fankhauser & Watkins.

Shawn Poston and Jon Schutts would lead the field to green in the Red Cedar Speedway hornet division, they were quickly eclipsed by Jeff Schmitt and Chad Halterman. Halterman and Schmitt would race side by side for several laps closely followed by Brandon Gleiter and Jason Bauer who were also side by side. All 4 drivers sliced and diced lap after lap exchanging the lead multiple times. While the race began to wind down Gleiter would secure the lead and drive off to the win followed by Bauer, Brian Schott, Chad Halterman and Jeff Schmitt.
